Ice Fishing Tournament Rules

The Tournament is scheduled for February 06, 2010 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. on Beebe Lake.

Contestants will be allowed inside fishing area prior to start of contest, however any fish caught prior to the contest beginning will not be valid.

Each person will be allowed to fish one hole per ticket, two holes maximum.

The top 3 place prizes are determined by largest weight and time registered. In the event of a tie, the first fish registered takes priority. You may register as many fish as you want, but only the heaviest fish per contestant will qualify for a competition prize. No contestants will be eligible for more than one competition prize.

There is no age requirement on tournament participation.

All fish entered must be brought to the Judges stand immediately and be alive. Dead or frozen fish are ineligible. Judges shall have the right to verify that fish were legally caught. The decision of the Judge is final. All fish must be caught and the contestant on the way to the Judges' stand by 3:00 p.m. on the day of the contest.

Contestants must fish in the same area designated for the contest and will be required to have their tickets visible at all times. Ticket checks as well as container inspections will be performed.

Contestants must use holes provided. Contestants are allowed to bring as many poles as desired, but cannot use more than one pole per hole at a time. Contestants will be allowed to move to other unoccupied holes in the contest area.

Contestants are responsible for their own safety, actions and property at all times.

Contestants must be in plain view from all sides at all times.

Entry fee for the tournament is $10.00 for those persons 17 years of age or older, and $5.00 for those persons 16 years of age and younger. No refunds will be given for any reason.

NO SHELTERS WILL BE ALLOWED.

All laws of the State of Minnesota will be abided by.

Prizes are the responsibility of the winners. Licensing, registration, transportation, taxes, and all incidental or sequential expenses incurred are the responsibility of the winners.

No motorized vehicles are allowed in the contest area other than contest officials and police personnel. Motorized vehicles are discouraged from being on the ice at all.

Contestants are to park in areas at their own risk. Contestants are encouraged to carpool and use the buddy system.

No spears allowed. Heater, chairs, bait pails, depth finders are allowed. No bait or licenses sold on lake. Small chisels are recommended as holes are drilled the day before.

The use of augers is not allowed.

Weighted lines without hooks can be used to check depth prior to 11:45 a.m.

There will be a Leader Board located in the registration area. All effort will be made to keep the board up to date and accurate.

Waste containers are provided. Glass containers are not allowed in contest area and will be confiscated by, and forfeited to, tournament officials.

Failure to comply with any contest rules subjects contestants to disqualification and removal from competition site, as determined by contest officials. Right to refuse to sell or revoke a competition ticket to anyone is hereby reserved.

All contestants and others hereby consent to the use of any photographs or likeness of themselves to be used in the promotion of our contest, including but not limited to print, radio, or television, etc.  St. Michael Lions will post pictures of the winners on this web site, www.stm-lions.org.

The St. Michael Lions thank you for supporting our efforts to protect the environment and request that you remove refuse, including cigarette butts, from the ice when you leave.

Members of the St. Michael Lions are ineligible to win contest prizes.
