11th Annual ICE Fishing Contest
a Huge Success!

The annual St. Michael Lions Club Ice Fishing Contest was a big success this year with the help of a beautiful winter day. The contest was held at Beebe Lake January 31st 2009 from noon to 3pm. Radio personality John Hines entertained the crowd with the help of KRWC 1360 AM Radio Road Show. Many folk generously gave to Mr. Hines’s charity “Wishes and More” with the Lions adding a final $500 donation to the cause. While Boy Scout Troop 541 was busy serving chili, hotdogs, hot chocolate and other refreshments to the fishing participants.

Even though the fishing was a little slow, $ 900 in cash prizes were given out to this year participants. Congratulations to Jim Marschall, Bryce Miodis and Garrett Larson (Walleye prizes) – Eric Jensen, Allison Schmitz and Neal Harding (Northern prizes) – Grant Walker, Steve Garnto and Scott Groll (Sunfish prizes) – Melissa Martens, James Rasmussen and Jim Hackenmueller (Crappie prizes).
